As a mental health professional, Giselle’s goal is to empower clients to overcome the obstacles that may hinder their ability to live their optimal lives. Through rapport building, collaboration, validation and respect, Giselle is dedicated to making the therapeutic process positive and productive. She is committed to helping children, adolescents and families acquire effective problem solving skills, coping mechanisms, self-regulation, and de-escalation techniques.

Biography

Giselle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology for Children and Adolescents; both degrees are from Montclair State University. Giselle is also a certified School Psychologist and has received a Doctorate Degree in School Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Giselle is a bilingual (English/Spanish) school psychologist with several years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. She has provided in-home and outpatient based counseling, using evidenced based treatments to address mood disorders, anxiety, and executive functioning. Giselle also has experience conducting psychiatric emergency screenings and crisis intervention for at-risk individuals of all ages. Currently, Giselle is a school psychologist, where she has gained experience in the field of special education, and is part of a multidisciplinary Child Study Team. Her role as a school psychologist provides additional insight into child development, academic achievement/resource and psycho-educational assessments.
